Inception and Inter-Departmental Coordination Meeting on VPL Integration in AFHCs for Adolescent Mental Health

Following growing concerns around adolescent mental health in Bangladesh and the need for strengthened youth-friendly services, we are pleased to announce an upcoming Inception and Inter-Departmental Coordination Meeting under the initiative to integrate the Volunteer Peer Leader (VPL) model into Adolescent Friendly Health Centres (AFHCs).

The meeting aims to bring together key government stakeholders, mental health experts, civil society representatives, and youth leaders to initiate structured collaboration for adolescent mental health system strengthening. It will also focus on establishing a Technical Working Group (TWG) and developing a roadmap for the integration of the VPL model within existing health systems.

This coordination platform will provide an opportunity to align priorities, enhance multi-sectoral engagement, and strengthen a shared commitment to improving access to youth-friendly mental health services in Bangladesh, as well as to advance the integration of the Volunteer Peer Leader (VPL) model into Adolescent Friendly Health Centres (AFHCs).
